Polysecure: Attachment, Trauma and Consensual Nonmonogamy by Jessica Fern

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I would best describe this book as one that explains polyamory and generalizes attachment theory to a non-monogamous setting. In this light, I believe it has greatly succeeded and does so with the proper nuance and open mindedness needed. I would recommend this book even to monogamous people as well as anyone interested in learning more about attachment theory or polyamory.

(Note: CNM = Consensual Non-Monogamy)

Polysecure is a great book that explains:

  1. Reasons for CNM and the different kinds of people that enter into the relationship
  2. Unique issues and opportunities granted by CNM
  3. The pathologization of CNM, as well anti-sex and mononormative culture that results in discrimination
  4. Attachment styles in a CNM context
  5. … More …

Note: Listened to as an audiobook, I don’t believe there was any quality lost from this.
