The Culture Code: The Secrets of Highly Successful Groups by Daniel Coyle
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The culture code has one fundamental message: Connection, belonging, safety, and the sense of a future together all contribute to a great community/business culture. These principles seem to point towards a flat hierarchy where everyone is a family that can be criticized and loved. These principles also demonstrate that even the most mundane, small, obvious, and informationless signals of vulnerability and belonging contribute to greatly improved creativity and productivity. Our monkey brains of social belonging are still at work in the modern world and those who are able to understand that will flourish. The best leaders are those who are able to be cultural broadcasters and allow the organization to act as they will.
There are many insights in this book that are “big if true”. Backed up by wildly compelling stories and typically studies. I would recommend this book, particularly to anyone in a leadership position
Note: Listened to as an audiobook. No quality lost in the process.
